What if I told you that the perfect, comfortable living room sofa is within reach? Or that your search for a beautiful credenza or coffee table is over? Well, my friends, welcome to the world of bespoke living room furniture.

Designing bespoke pieces of furniture for your living space can make all the difference in creating a space that is equally beautiful, purposeful, and tailored to you. When the RIGHT piece of furniture seems impossible to find, we create it. Ensuring size, function, comfort, and style are all in complete alignment.
Here are my three bespoke living room furniture ideas that are sure to curate joy and connection in your home.
Commissioning a piece of bespoke living room furniture is a wonderful way to ensure you get exactly what you need for your space in the style and size that you want it. Additionally, a commissioned piece of furniture is a wonderful way to support craftsmen and artisans, as your piece will most likely be made by hand.
When designing a space, it’s easy for our team to envision the perfect piece to complete or complement the look of a luxury living room design for one of our San Francisco and Bay Area clients . During the sourcing process, if we are struggling to find a piece to fit the vision, that is often a sign that it’s time to commission a bespoke piece.
These pieces often become new family heirlooms and serve as functional art with in your space.
Bespoke Credenza

This bespoke credenza was commissioned for our Taste of Modern project as our clients are big fans of the artists and were excited to have a piece of functional art for their space.
Bespoke Console Table

A fantastic console table we commissioned for our House Full of Readers project that lived in their dining space and added to the beautiful art we sourced for the wall.
Bespoke Living Room Coffee Table

For our Smart & Tailored project, our creative eye could “see” exactly what we needed, but finding it was another ball game. After finding an amazing artisan, we put pen to paper and designed a piece built to our specific needs.
A sofa is one of the most important pieces in a living room. From entertaining to relaxing and everything in between, your sofa plays an important role.
When shopping for furniture with our clients, the sofa becomes a big focus.
For our Smart & Tailored project, as we perused the showroom, we were able to see which sofas our clients were drawn to. In the end, we were able to work with the staff to combine elements of two different sofas into one. With the sofas being from the same line, we chose the seat and back from one and combined it with the arms of a second one.
And since our client was exceptionally tall, we requested that the back of the sofa be raised by two inches to accommodate his height and alleviate his back pain.
The result was a custom sofa that everyone in the family could enjoy that also worked with the design of the space.

While technically not bespoke living room furniture, the fabric in your living room has just as much presence. From window treatments to throw pillows, selecting the right fabrics and passementerie will elevate your entire space.
We have our pillows made from scratch 99% of the time, combining beautiful fabrics with subtle trims. Often using beautiful hand-blocked, made-to-order printed fabrics or 100% linen solid colors—and, believe it or not, washable, and we use luxurious and durable indoor-outdoor fabrics. Some are advertised to be bleach-cleanable!
Bespoke Fabric for Living Room Furniture

Another favorite from our House Full of Readers project is the blue velvet sofa for the family’s media room where they love to cuddle up and watch a movie together.
For custom sofas, I have a favorite washable velvet that is great for homes with kids and pets—a little gentle soap and water will clean up messes. With the right blend of beauty and functionality, these elements should complement the space but also be able to stand up to a Sunday afternoon couch nap. What good is a couch pillow if it can’t stand up to movie night?
You know that custom sofa I just mentioned?
DAYS after receiving their bespoke sofa, the family’s dog got hold of a Sharpie and somehow managed to draw along the back side of their brand-new piece!
Yet have no fear, we picked the perfect fabric for them. A little soap and water, and it came right out!
No dry cleaning. No special cleaners coming to the house. Just back to normal life in a few moments. MAGIC.
The purpose of bespoke living room furniture is to have the right piece that is perfectly suited to you. When a design is tailored to you and layered with phenomenal custom pieces, the result is a space that makes your heart come alive and your soul feel at ease every time you enjoy the space.
